Bring the SBC to your organization

Have an upcoming event that involves the arts?

Have a group of individuals interested in learning more about the art of dance?

Have a fundraiser or special event that would benefit from the beauty and grace of a performance by the Springfield Ballet Company?

Call us! The SBC will bring the show to you!

The SBC makes the following types of programs available to the general public:

Performances – Small scale performances can be preformed at your location or as entertainment for your event.  This requires a space of at least 20’x 20’ and access to a CD player, microphone and speakers.

Workshops – One-time dance lessons with instruction and a chance for interaction and participation.  This requires a space of 20’x 20’and access to a CD player, microphone and speakers.

Lectures/Discussions – Expose your organization to the history of dance, get a peek into the mind of a choreographer or get the inside scoop on what it takes to put on a ballet performance.  Our Artistic Director or Ballet Mistress will come to your site to discuss the SBC and give your group insight into the organization as a whole, or ballet and dance in general.  We prefer having access to a DVD player and TV so our presenter can show examples of what she is explaining.

We generally request a donation of at least $50 per hour to help offset the costs of providing the program, but this fee may be waived or reduced for schools or other non-profit organizations.

If you are interested in having the SBC come to you, please contact Artistic Director Julie Ratz at 217-544-1967, and she will get back to you to discuss the type of program you would like, scheduling and logistics.

If you would prefer to come to us, space is also available at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, which, subject to availability, may be reserved for SBC programs.  If you are interested in hosting a program for your organization with the SBC at the Hoogland, please be sure to mention that when you call.

We look forward to hearing from you as we continue to strive to fulfill our mission of providing dance education and performances to enrich our community through the beauty, energy and diversity of dance.
