SBC's Summer Community Tour

Who:             
Springfield Ballet Company dancers performing for special audiences including senior centers, the Hope Institute and Saint John’s Breadline during the week of June 15 thru 19, 2009.

What:              
The SBC summer tour is part of our mission to offer opportunities for all members of the central Illinois community to be educated and entertained through the art of dance. The tour is sponsored by Staab Funeral Home and Mrs. Barbara Schwartz in memory of Barbara C. Rawlings.

About:             
The Springfield Ballet Company is a civic not-for-profit ballet company that has been entertaining and educating area audiences since 1975. The company offers two major productions at the University of Illinois at Springfield's Sangamon Auditorium each year, various productions at the Hoogland Center for the Arts, and also performs at festivals, schools and nursing homes throughout central Illinois.  SBC is committed to providing equitable opportunities for company dancers to be trained in and to perform the art of dance, as well as offering opportunities for all members of the central Illinois community to be educated and entertained.

SBC’s 2099-2010 season will include the following performances: Rockballet, September 12 & 13, 2009, at Sangamon Auditorium; The Nutcracker, December 12 & 13, 2009, at Sangamon Auditorium; DancerWorks, March 19, 2010, at the Hoogland Center for the Arts; and Men in Tights, April 30, 2010, at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.
