The Springfield Ballet Company is a civic not-for-profit ballet company that has been entertaining and educating area audiences since 1975. The company offers two major productions at the University of Illinois at Springfield's Sangamon Auditorium each year, and also performs at festivals, schools and nursing homes throughout central Illinois.  SBC is committed to providing equitable opportunities for company dancers to be trained in and to perform the art of dance, as well as offering opportunities for all members of the central Illinois community to be educated and entertained.

SBC’s 2009-2010 season will include the following performances: Rockballet, Sept. 12 and 13, The Nutcracker, Dec. 12 and 13, at Sangamon Auditorium, and Dancerworks, March 2010, at Hoogland Center for the Arts.. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Upcoming events include the SBC’s summer intensive workshop, August 3-7 and Aug. 10-14 at Hoogland Center for the Arts.
